Frequently Asked Questions:

*What type of glass is it made from?

Borosilicate, or "boro" as it is often referred to, is used extensively in the glass blowing process lamp working, which uses a
burner torch to melt and form glass, using a variety of metal and graphite tools. Borosilicate is referred to as "hard glass" and
has a higher melting point than "soft glass" which is used in glass blowing formed in large furnaces and large rods. Raw glass
used in lamp working comes in glass rods for solid work and glass tubes for hollow work tubes and vessels/containers. Lamp
working is used to make complex and custom scientific apparatus, for this kind of "scientific glassblowing" the specifications
must be exact and the glass blower must be highly skilled and precise. Lamp working is also done as art and common items
made include goblets, paper weights and pendants. Borosilicate often has a more three dimensional and exotic look than soft
glass, with natural and multicolored tones to it. Colors in glass come from combining different amounts of elements, including
cobalt, iron, and silver.

*Can I use my own chain with a pendant?

Mostly yes, some pieces have a smaller hole than others.( most holes are 2.5mm or bigger )

*What is dichroic?

Dichroic glass stems from the fusion of the Greek word di-chroos, which means two (di) and color (chroos) and refers to the
capability of some crystals to show two different colors when you look at them from different angles. Put another way, if you hold
up a piece of dichroic glass, you will see one color being reflected back at you while another color is passing through. You
would also see two different colors if you look at the same glass from different angles.

Dichroic glass was developed by NASA to be used in face shields for astronaut space suits, which needed transparent mediums
which filtered out unwanted light spectrum's such as harmful infrared or ultraviolet rays.
